Fans point out detail from Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas divorce that makes them very uncomfortable

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have announced their divorce after nearly four years of marriage.

Some fans are questioning a particular rumour surrounding Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas' divorce which makes them feel 'uncomfortable'.

The Jonas Brothers singer, 34, and the X-Men star, 27, confirmed their split in a joint statement on Instagram this afternoon (6 September).

Reports suggest that the divorce filing - made in Florida’s Miami-Dade County Court - stated that 'the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken'.

"After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage," the joint statement reads.

"There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."

Prior to the statement, one source claimed that there was one reason why Jonas and Turner split up.

They told TMZ: "She likes to party; he likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles."

However, her fans on social media are clearly uncomfortable and have rubbished the claims, pointing out that it seems out of character for the 27-year-old to suddenly become a huge extrovert.

One person wrote: "Sophie Turner has been speaking for years about her anxiety and how she likes to stay home and Joe Jonas likes to go and party... so the reason he's divorcing her is because SHE likes to party? This makes no sense."

And another added: "The media wants to sell you a story and yall are foolishly buying the hell out of it in a very embarrassing and disrespectful way."

In an interview with Conan O'Brien during the Covid-19 pandemic, Turner opened up about life during lockdown, claiming she enjoyed it.

She told the host: "I'm an introvert. I'm a homebody. If I could stay at home all day I would.

"Everything seems to be working out in my favor here because Joe's a real social butterfly, so I struggle to lock him down and have him just spend time with me.

"It's like prison for him, but it's great for me."

Fans of the Game of Thrones star have rubbished claims made about her by sources to the press.

The pair first met in October 2016 after exchanging Instagram DMs earlier in the year. By December they were exclusively dating one another and announced their engagement in October 2017.

Jonas and Turner got married at a Las Vegas wedding chapel on 1 May, 2019 after the Billboard Music Awards.

They welcomed their first daughter, Willa, in 2020 and their second daughter, whose name has not yet been made public, came last year.

Last November, Jonas opened up about his relationship during an interview with Mr. Porter.

"I want to feel like an open book," he told the publication. "But when we started dating, I realized that I didn't have a ton of stuff that was just for me. And in the end, it makes me a better person to have something for myself."
