As well as walking away from this year's Olympic Games with a hefty handful of gold medals, US gymnast Simone Biles will also be taking home the adoration of millions of spectators.

One person's affection she doesn't need to win, however, is that of her beloved husband Jonathan Owens, who has been cheering on the gymnastics champion from the Parisian sidelines ever since the 2024 tournament kicked off last week.

And today, Simone's proud partner - who himself is an American football safety for the NFL's Chicago Bears - has had praise heaped onto him from fans for emphasising his wife's stardom with a sweet gesture.

This year's games have been illustrious for 27-year-old superstar Simone, who has already won the all-around gymnastics title for her second Olympic gold in Paris and sixth overall.

The history-making gymnast was awarded her second incredible victory yesterday (Thursday 1 August) before a crowd full of witnesses.

Earlier in the tournament, she was supported by a plethora of A-list fans - including Snoop Dogg, Tom Cruise and Ariana Grande.

But for her latest triumph, Simone was seen looking directly into the stands where her nearest and dearest were sat - her parents Ronald and Nellie Biles, and husband Jonathan, who she wed last April after three years of dating.

After clinching the astounding victory, the athlete turned towards her family, where she immediately threw up a heart-warming love-heart gesture, made with her hands.

In response, 29-year-old Jonathan made the same tear-jerking sign, pledging his support to his medal-winning other-half.

And as such, millions of fans of the sporting power couple haven't been able to resist giving a shoutout to the pair, whose love for one another is evident through a single glance.

"Find someone that loves you as much as Jonathan Owens loves Simone Biles," one Olympics viewer penned on social media this week.

"The pure joy and love between Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens is everything! Moments like these remind us why we love sports. #CoupleGoals," another admirer wrote.

A third continued: "The pride Jonathan must be feeling. You know when her floor routine ended he was shouting in his head, “That’s my baby girl right there!!!” Love them."

"This is the power couple that I’ve been wanting to see. Love it," a fourth added, whilst another went on: "so sweet he was all into it!"

Other viewers of their sweet gesture even pointed out that the American football star had missed out on his team's training camp to be there for his Mrs, having received absence permission from his coach.

"Man skipping camp for his wife’s moment 👏🏾 respect," one wrote online.

Another joined in to say: "Massive respect for allowing Jonathan Owens time off of pre-season camp to support his wife Simone Biles as she dominated to become the most decorated woman’s gymnast in history and lead her team to a gold medal."
