Selena Gomez ‘tricks’ fans with new Benny Blanco announcement and people are in tears

Selena Gomez has 'tricked' her fans with a brand-new Benny Blanco announcement - and people have been left in tears.

The 32-year-old 'Who Says' singer took to Instagram on Thursday night (February 13) to share the update with her 421 million followers, and it's safe to say it's gone down extremely well with fans.

She shared a series of snaps with her husband-to-be, 36, which included shots of them in bed together and one of him kissing her on the cheek.

She captioned the post: "I always trick you guys!

"My NEW album I Said I Love You First with my best friend @itsbennyblanco, is out on 3/21. Our first song, 'Scared of Loving You' is out now on all streaming platforms.

"Merchandise and signed products for the album are available for pre-order now. We can’t wait to share this special project with you soon!"

In a follow-up post Gomez shared a romantic video of her and Blanco at Disneyland together as as 'Scared of Loving You' played in the background.

The lyrics of the track start off: "If I broke your heart, would you take me back?/ If I broke my arm, would you sign my cast?/ When I was young, I would love too fast / Hope I don't repeat my past.'

In the chorus, she admits to feeling 'scared of losin' a partner or that they would 'gonna find somebody new'.

She captioned the clip: "How would they love you, as much as I love you. 'Scared of Loving You', song and lyric video, with @itsbennyblanco out now!"

The 'trick' comment seemingly references a recent chat Gomez had back in December with Lady Bird star, Saoirse Ronan, for Variety's Actors on Actors series, where she opened up about her career in Hollywood.

"I definitely think my strong suit is probably acting," she shared. "But one thing I’m proud of in music is being able to tell a story — my favourite songs are mostly ballads, and they’re very transparent and honest."

She added: "But I think I might be a little too old for the pop-star life.

"I’m genuinely so happy to just be in this new era of my life, because in a lot of ways, it’s just the beginning."

Fans have since rushed in to share their reactions to being 'tricked' with one Instagram user gushing: "You tricked us fr…can’t wait for 3/21!!"

"'I always trick you guys' YOU REALLY DO! LOVE YOUUU," beamed a second.

A third chimed in: "Crying this is the sweetest thing ever!"

"Seeing you happy is everything for me," penned a fourth while a fifth chirped: "This is SO cute!"

A sixth praised: "So excited for the album and I LOVE the song so much!"

"Can’t wait for this album!" echoed another.

And a final Instagram user added: "Beautiful song. Beautiful couple. Makes me cry…"
