Sarah Paulson, 49, honours girlfriend Holland Taylor, 81, in heartwarming birthday tribute
They've become one of Hollywood’s cutest couples after getting together nine years ago
Sarah Paulson has shared an adorable birthday tribute to girlfriend Holland Taylor, as her long-term partner celebrates her 81st spin around the sun.
Paulson, 49, has been in a relationship with Taylor since early 2015, and the pair have become one of Hollywood’s cutest couples after regularly sharing insight into their happy life together online.
While the pair couldn’t be more loved up, their partnership has fallen victim to cruel comments about their 30+ year age gap, which is something Paulson previously said may be partly down to their sexuality - telling the Guardian back in 2020 that she didn’t see the same level of ‘obsession’ around heterosexual couples with a similar age difference.

"I don't remember people going nuts about Michael Douglas and Catherine-Zeta Jones, in terms of their age difference,” Paulson said at the time.
"For me, that seems to be the predominant interest in my relationship with Holland, what would be perceived by some as the strangeness of it, or the unlikelihood of it. I think people are fascinated by it, because it's so not typical.
"Except for if you look around at plenty of well-known or recognisable couples, when they're heterosexual couples, it just runs rampant, and I don't see anybody becoming obsessed by those relationships."
In spite of the occasional bit of hate, the pair couldn’t be happier – as proven by Paulson’s latest Instagram tribute to her love.
In honour of Taylor’s 81st birthday, she posted a video montage of photos, writing: “My phone made this. And I like it. Happy Birthday to my one and only love.
“You are, quite simply - my world. I love you @hollandvtaylor.”
She added: “Don’t be mad about the second to last picture, I didn’t know how to take it out, plus there are pictures of me with no eyebrows, so...”
Many of their famous fans and followers also shared the love, with Sophia Bush both posting love heart emojis in response, while Paris Hilton commented with a couple of heart-eye emojis.
Filmmaker Ava Duverney also wrote: “We love your love. Happy birthday, @hollandvtaylor. Your life is a gift to us all. Blessings and bravery to you both!”
News anchor Lara Spencer added: “I just adore this. And you SP - you and HT make me love love even more.”
A few months ago, Taylor opened up about the secret to their long-lasting relationship at the 2023 Second Stage Theater Fall Gala, which honoured Paulson.
Speaking to Page Six, she admitted it’s all about making sure you’re doing your own thing from time to time.
“I think we each follow our own path so we’re not exactly the same,” Taylor said, continuing: “We do some things separately so everyone gets to be true to what they believe.
“She’s much more social, and I like a little bit of alone time, so I have that. She spends some time with friends and not with me, so it’s a good balance.”
