Rosie O'Donnell is imploring her fans to 'pray' for her daughter Chelsea Belle, whilst lifting the lid on the gut-wrenching realities of drug addiction.
The TV star is a mother of five, having four of her children in the 1990s with then-partner Kelli Carpenter. The former couple are parents to sons Parker, 30, and Blake, 26, as well as daughter Chelsea, 28.
Their daughter Vivienne, 23, was conceived via artificial insemination during O'Donnell and Carpenter's relationship, which came to an end in 2007, after which the comedy star adopted another daughter, Dakota, 12, with now-ex wife, Michelle Rounds.
In September of last year, Chelsea - who has since welcomed four children of her own - was arrested in Wisconsin and charged with several counts, including child neglect and the maintenance of a drug trafficking facility.

She was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and the illegal obtaining of both prescriptions and drug paraphernalia at the time, along with misdemeanour possession of THC.

The following month, she was arrested again and charged with several more felonies, including bail jumping and resisting or obstructing an officer.
In November, Chelsea was arrested for a third time, and in March of this year, she appeared in court. Despite being released on probation on 22 October, she violated the agreement and was sentenced to time in prison, as per court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

In light of the latest news, her mother, O'Donnell, has since shared a heartbreaking message, pleading with her social media followers to keep Chelsea in her prayers.
Sharing a childhood photo of her daughter, the talk-show host penned in the caption: "My child chelsea belle - before addiction took over her life - i loved her then i love her now as she faces a scary future- prayers welcomed - #addiction awareness."
O'Donnell also told PEOPLE this week when approached for a further statement: "I have compassion for those struggling with addiction - Chelsea was born into addiction, and it has been a painful journey for her and her four young children.

"We continue to love and support her through these horrible times. Prayers welcomed."
After her daughter's arrest last year, the star shared a statement with PEOPLE, which said: "Sadly, this is not new for our family. Chelsea has struggled with drug addiction for a decade — we are all hopeful she will find her way out of this deadly disease."
In response to O'Donnell's latest plea, a number of fellow stars took to the comments to issue their support, including Broadway star Billy Porter, who penned: "Sending all the love and peace that’s possible."
Orange is the New Black actress Uzo Aduba also wrote: "Love you, Rosie. Sending you so much love!"
