Pamela Anderson has opened up about the moment she believes she was 'almost killed' as a flight passenger mistook her for another celebrity.

The 57-year-old The Last Showgirl star shared the story of how she narrowly avoided what could have been a pretty dire situation while soaring the skies.

"Have you ever been mistaken for another actor in your career?" Anderson was asked by host of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Josh Horowitz, in Monday’s episode (6 January).

The Baywatch star then shared an anecdote of the 'scary' experience, beginning: "This one time, I was on a flight and this guy came up to me and said, 'Do you know what this country’s done for you?'

"And I was like, 'Oh, my God. What have I done?' And then I looked back at him and he’d [growl at me]. This stewardess had to handcuff him to the chair because he was trying to attack me."

Anderson continued: "It ended up, he thought I was a Dixie Chick. Remember that whole Dixie Chick thing? I almost got killed on a plane!"

She also revealed the incident left her totally 'scared' to fly afterwards, adding: "When you look back and he’s like [growling] at you…"

Host Josh then chimed in: "That’s only the 400th weirdest thing that’s happened in your life, to be fair."

"That was minor!" Anderson agreed, before adding: "I was scared to fly after that a little bit."

Anderson didn't reveal when the incident took place, but The Dixie Chicks faced controversy when one of the band members, Natalia Maines, condemned the US present at the time, George W. Bush, and the invasion of Iraq while performing at a concert in London back in 2003.

Anderson has previously opened up about what being sexualised was like for her two kids from her first marriage to Tommy Lee, Brandon Thomas and Dylan Jagger.

Explaining what it was like preparing for her role in Golden-Globe-nominated The Last Showgirl, she told Variety: "I was able to bring a lot of my own personal experience, my long life of dealing with beauty and glamour and ageing and reassessing life choices. I got to bring my whole life into this role.

"I think the past shouldn’t dictate your future. But looking back, I was always creating characters. And I feel like I know I’ve created a few Halloween costumes.

"But a lot of the things I went through, I didn’t realise my kids were going through them at the same time."

She admitted: "Being a working mum and being in this entertainment world and having your mum be sexualised in some way - I didn’t realise how difficult it was. So I’m not ashamed of my life.

"I’m not ashamed of the choices that I made, even though maybe in hindsight I would’ve done things differently. But you need life experience to know that you would’ve done that differently."
