With a coveted Oscar already under her belt following her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once, actor Jamie Lee Curtis apparently felt no need to stick around during Sunday night's lengthy Academy Awards ceremony.

In fact, the much-loved Hollywood veteran made an appearance on the star-studded red carpet, presented an award, and took off early.

Now, in the days following her unexpected early departure, the 65-year-old silver screen star has revealed that she had an absolutely iconic explanation for her premature exit.

And tbh, it's the most relatable admission we've heard all week.

Prior to dipping away, Jamie Lee was among the group of previous Best Support Actress award winners to present this year's victor in the same category.

The Halloween favourite initially appeared on the celebrity-littered red carpet, donning a simple yet sophisticated black Dolce & Gabbana dress, which she paired with a stunning golden bangle.

She later appeared on stage alongside 2018 winner Regina King, 1961 victor Rita Moreno, 2013 champion Lupita Nyong'o and 1980 star Mary Steenburgen, to read out this year's nominations.

Each heaping praise onto a particular star up for the illustrious award - from Oppenheimer's Emily Blunt, The Colour Purple star Danielle Brooks, Barbie's America Ferrera, Nyad actress Jodie Foster and The Holdovers favourite Da'Vine Joy Randolph - it was time for the big moment.

In the end, it was first-time nominee Da'Vine who walked away with the top spot, after which Jamie reportedly headed straight to the back door and escaped in her town car.

'Why the rush to leave?' you may be wondering. Well, it might surprise to learn that the star was simply in need of a bite to eat.

Taking to Instagram following the ceremony, the mother-of-two shared a handful of hilarious snaps from her big night at Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre.

In the first of the three rib-tickling pics, the actress could be seen smiling in the back of her transportation vehicle - the top of her suave back gown on display, matching her funky glasses.

The second photo saw the on-screen legend placing an order with an employee from In And Out burger from her car window, with the third showing her colossal order of a burger, fries and a large Pepsi.

"FLY IN [tick emoji], GET FLUFFED AND FOLDED [tick emoji], PRESENT AT OSCARS [tick emoji], GO TO @inandout_burger [tick emoji], FLY AWAY [tick emoji]," she captioned the series.

"Really just presented and dipped. I respect it," one fan commented.

Another went on: "Yes queen! Bet you were happy they started an hour earlier this year too!"

"This is EXACTLY how you do it," a third gushed.
