Fans have defended North West after cruel trolls slammed her recent Lion King performance.

On Friday night (24 May), the 10-year-old took to the stage at the 30th-anniversary concert at the Hollywood Bowl, while parents Kim Kardashian and Kanye West watched on in the crowd as she sang the iconic hit 'I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,' dressed as child Simba.

And it appears that almost the whole family was out to support North, as momager Kris was also in attendance alongside Kourtney and her hubby, Travis Barker.

The show starred Jeremy Irons and Nathan Lane, who'd voiced Scar and Timon in the 1994 original movie, as well as Billy Eichner, Ernie Sabella, Jason Weaver, Bradley Gibson and Jennifer Hudson.

And ever the proud mum, Kim also shared behind-the-scenes pictures of her daughter with her cast mates and preparing to go on stage - as well as a Lion King themed bouquet.

But despite how proud her family is, North's performance has left many viewers divided after footage of her performance went online.

Some slammed her for her 'horrible job', while others were quick to defend North and point out that such comments were a case of 'bullying' of a child.

One X user hit out: "Imma say it… North West did a horrible job on the Lion King! "You can tell she never went to practice, they just plopped her in last min."

While a second penned: "Imagine paying for a ticket to see a 30th anniversary concert of The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl, full of guest stars that were the original voices, and you have to suffer through North West like it’s an elementary school pageant."

"North West is not a talented child," slammed a third. "Why is she in the Lion King singing 'I just can’t wait to be king' girl go sit in the crowd man."

And others have since rushed in to stick up for North.

One X user wrote: "This is a kid so I’m just gonna say it looks like she’s having fun."

"Y'all gotta chill on North n stop acting like she ain’t a child too," another pointed out.

"I’m sure the other billionaires and their kids are fine."

A third added: "Y'all bullying and comparing children…"

Speaking of Kim and Kanye attending the show together to support their eldest child, a fourth praised: "This is so cute and great that her parents and forget about their differences and support the kids."

Another TikTok user said: "She did great, she's 10 performing in front of an audience..."

"What a great experience for her!" gushed a sixth. "She clearly practiced!"
