Millie Bobby Brown’s real name has been revealed, and the reason behind it is pretty heartwarming.

It’s quite a common thing that celebrities change their names, particularly actors as it’s all part of the Actors Guild guidelines, as there absolutely cannot be two people working in the industry baring the same name.

An example of this is Katy Perry, whose real name is Katheryn Hudson (Kate Hudson the actress dons essentially the same name).

So, what happens is that a lot of people choose their middle name as their last name or as their first name to allow for a totally unique name. However, it was a different reason that Millie Bobby Brown decided to change hers, and it probably makes it all the more special.

Now, in recent weeks, the 21-year-old Stranger Things actress has been having a hard time of it.

Just the other day, she was forced to take to social media, to share a self-fronted video naming and shaming news outlets and authors for sharing content which was were negative about her appearance - one of which claimed she’d had a 'mommy makeover'.

We can all see that she has recently debuted a change in aesthetic, after opting for blonde locks, which led to theories that she could be soon to star in a Britney Spears biopic. But she’s since been called out for trying to 'look older'.

In her statement, she called out people for making her feel bad about her looks and getting older, as well as slamming journalists for 'bullying' her in the press.

Thankfully, she seems to be taking it well and not letting those people tear her down.

On the back of her trolls, it was revealed that she adopted her husband's surname after they married in May of last year, which means that as of right now, her name is officially Millie Bobby Brown Bongiovi.

But prior to this, her birth name was Millie Bonnie Brown.

Yes, you read that right.

Even her Wikipedia page wasn’t privy to that information, and it’s all down to her intentional secrecy.

The star shared that Bobby is her father’s name, and she changed it for ‘sh**s and giggles’, which then ended up becoming her acting name.

The actor dropped her bombshell in a new interview with Buzzfeed while promoting her new movie The Electric State, in which she stars alongside Chris Pratt.

Since branching out into stardom at the age of 11, Millie has met many celebs and worked with even more, some of whom have been looking out for her amid her trolling.

Pratt recently looked out for her and prevented a major wardrobe malfunction, leading to fans praising him.

The 45-year-old Guardians of the Galaxy actor and Millie attended a press conference in Madrid for their sci-fi adventure flick, The Electric State on 27 February, where footage of the moment went viral on social media.

What they saw was Pratt getting up from his seat and quickly standing in front of Brown with his back to the audience so that she could promptly get up from her chair and adjusted her skirt, before it could expose her.

What a gentleman.
