JoJo Siwa’s unexpected relationship with Chris Hughes has dominated headlines in the last few months as she continues to spend time in the UK with her new lover.
The pair’s love story was the Dance Moms and Love Island crossover that no one expected when it began as a close friendship on Celebrity Big Brother and got everyone talking - including it seems, none other than Miley Cyrus.
But before we get to Miley’s comments, for those who need a reminder of how it went down, JoJo, 22, met Chris, 32, on the ITV reality show earlier this year. But at the time, she was in a relationship with influencer Kath Ebbs at the time.
JoJo swiftly called things off with them at the show’s afterparty, which further fuelled the ongoing rumours that her relationship with Chris could be more than just friendly.

Last week, their relationship was finally confirmed, as JoJo sweetly revealed that it’s ‘not platonic anymore’ and she’s ‘head over heels’ for the former Love Island star.
Fans will also remember that while JoJo previously identified as lesbian and during her time in the CBB house, she opened up about identifying more with 'queer'.
And now, in a recent video for Dreamland Pride, Miley made a joke about the unlikely new couple that’s left people seriously divided.
In the clip, which has been doing the rounds on social media, the Hannah Montana star stood inside a closet as she said: “Enjoy coming out of the closet if this Pride is the time for you.”
She went on to tell attendees to ‘have an amazing Pride,’ before signing off with a ‘closet’ joke about JoJo.
“Alright I’m going back to get some more pretzels and find JoJo Siwa and bring her back out,” the singer joked.
However, the line hasn’t gone down too well with fans, who are calling Miley out and saying that suggesting JoJo’s not ‘out’ of the closet is bi-erasure, as we all know you can still be part of the LGBTQ+ community if you’re with a man.
One X user tweeted: “Bi women being biphobic is so weird lol."
Another added: “Why don’t she tell herself that? Oh yeah that’s right, it’s almost like you can’t help who you fall for. Love is love, can we just let bi people live!?”
Meanwhile, a third angrily quipped: “I adore Miley but this isn't ok. JoJo never went back into the closet, SHE'S STILL QUEER!! Again JoJo being with Chris doesn't erase or change her attraction to women. Pride month should be about celebrating all members of the LGBT+ community, not about making jibes like this."
Others chimed in with: “Can y'all just let bi people exist” and: “Uhhhhhh nah this is problematic let people be who they want to be??”
And someone on Instagram added: "Hello, bisexuality is a thing!"
Meanwhile, others rushed to Miley’s defence to explain that the comment was just a joke and not something to be taken seriously.
One user wrote: “To the weird people: Miley & Jojo are literally friends irl. Jojo is the biggest Miley fan and Miley is always supporting Jojo. She's just joking with HER FRIEND & HER COMMUNITY that you DON'T own.”
Another added: “Y’all forget that Miley has also dated men and women, she isn’t “clocking” anyone for being fake or making fun of bi people or dismissing bi/pan people etc. Miley is not being biphobic here, it’s just a joke.”
Someone else chimed in with: “It was a joke. People take everything very personally these days.”
