Michelle Obama’s brother asked savage question when he found out she was dating Barack

Michelle and Barack Obama have been married for 33 years, and share two children together, Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23

Michelle Obama’s brother had a savage response when he found out that his sister had begun dating a future president and it’s actually pretty funny.

There’s nothing quite like a sibling relationship.

They are the people that will tell you the truth, even if you didn’t ask for it, and even if it’s too harsh to come from someone else’s mouth.

I suppose that’s why we equally love and hate them.

No matter your position in life, from commoner to celebrity or even a former first lady, siblings are always going to be the same.

So, when Michelle brought up her relationship with Barack Obama on an episode of her podcast with her brother Craig Robinson called IMO, there was bound to be some out-of-pocket comments.

Her brother shared that initially, he had been sceptical about his sister’s relationship, and that’s when he gave the ultimate blow to her sister’s husband.

The pair have been married for 33 years, and share two children together, Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23.

But it seems like Craig didn’t expect it to last.

He said: “So, Mich starts to date Barack, and we don’t know who this guy is, we’re just like, ‘Barack? Who’s got a name like Barack?'”

Okay, so while the name is something that isn’t totally common in the US, you’ve got to admit that it suits him.

Anyway, after poking fun at his name in a savage comment, he admitted that he thought it was ‘gonna last a month like most of your relationships.’

Michelle, then hit back at her brother, arguing that her short-term relationships were ‘not true’ and that she’s had ‘many a long-term boyfriend’.

“I wouldn’t call those guys boyfriends,” he quipped.

As for the rest of the family, Craig admitted that their mother’s first reaction was to say: “Oh, at least he’s tall!”

He shared: “That was her first thing she said, because Mich was usually posting up her other boyfriends.”

However, he went on to revealed that internally, he was thinking: “Too bad it’s not going to last.”

Well, Michelle proved him wrong and married Barack in October 1992, and have been through thick and thin together.

They have even had to shut down divorce rumours which began when people saw Barack and Michelle at events without one another.

Michelle addressed the theories on Sophia Bush’s Work in Progress podcast, explaining that she had chosen to step back from being in the public eye.

“The interesting thing is that when I say ‘no,’ for the most part, people are like, ‘I get it,’ and I’m OK,” Michelle said. “And that’s the thing that we as women struggle with — disappointing people.”

“They couldn’t even fathom that I was making a choice for myself, that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing,” Michelle added.

The pair have since gone on to share Valentine’s Day posts looking loved up, so it’s safe to say that the rumours are just that… rumours.
