Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright’s daughter’s name meaning might be all down to one thing, and it has a very special origin.
The pair, who have been together for over a decade, announced the birth of their first child together just weeks after they first shared the news of their pregnancy on March 11.
The couple announced the pregnancy on 29 December as they rang in the New Year by sharing a picture taken on the beach where the actress’s growing bump could be clearly seen.
Alongside the image posted to her Instagram account, she wrote: "2025 is going to be a special one for us.”

Then, on 11 March, the new parents shared the news on Instagram about the arrival of their baby girl, and friends and family were quick to praise them and their new addition.
"Together we have a new love to share,” Keegan wrote in the caption. “Our little girl.”
In the end, the couple announced their daughter's unique name - Palma Elizabeth Wright.
While they've have yet to confirm the meaning behind it, the pair have quite the love for Spain, and as the name is of Spanish origin with roots in Italian, Latin, and Portuguese, it could be due to their holidaying destination.
Palma means palm tree, honey and sweetness and translates to ‘palm tree’.
The new parents actually own a holiday home in the Spanish city of Mallorca, and they renovated it just two years ago.
This has lead to some fans believing that the pair holidayed there just before falling pregnant, and then going on to bestow the name to their child in ode to the location.
In summer last year, Keegan posted a series of pictures of her and Wright in the Spanish resort, where she was seen having fun and eating paella.
Guess what? Their home is in Palma…the same name they gave to their daughter.
So, maybe it is an ode to their favourite place.
Fans have already linked the name Palma to their Spanish home, with one writing: "I wonder if they were in Majorca 9 months ago. An unusual but beautiful name."
Another user added: "Gorgeous name, wonder if it has any links considering they've got a place in Spain."

After the couple’s baby announcement, Mark's mother Carol went on to write a sweet message for the pair, reposting their photo of the newborn to her Instagram Story as she wrote: "We are in love with you beautiful baby girl thank you Michelle and Mark for this wonder gift. X."
Mark's sister-in-law Hollie commented: "Josh and Dusty can not wait to meet their new cousin."
While his sister Natalya wrote: "So so happy for you both. The best news ever."
And Mark's brother Josh posted: "Over the moon for you both and can’t wait for our boys to meet your little one."
Everyone is so happy for the pair.
