British musician Lola Young refused to mince her words when queried online about her sexuality, replying with an iconic statement that has since gone viral.
For those unfamiliar with the 'Messy' hitmaker, Young sky-rocketed to global stardom when the 2024 track topped the UK Singles chart.
The anthem also went viral around the world after millions of TikTok stars began using to back their videos - including celebrity socialites Sofia Richie, Kylie Jenner and Jake Shane, who shared videos dancing to it.

In the months that followed, 24-year-old Young was both nominated for a Best Pop Act at the 2025 Brit Awards. She was also booked to perform at Coachella this year, which is essentially America's equivalent to Glastonbury - so, a pretty big deal.

Since having forged a name for herself in the music industry as a rising star, fans of Young have been dying to know everything they can about the new kid on the block - including her sexuality, apparently.
In the comments of a TikTok video shared by the musician earlier this week - in which she could be seen dancing and lip-syncing to CMAT's catchy number 'Take A Sexy Picture of Me' - one fan attempted to compliment her.

"Men don’t deserve this," they penned.
Though many misinterpreted the remark as an insult, the same fan went on to clarify that the phrase emphasises that Young is too good for any man - much in the same way you'd tell a friend heartbroken over a lame a** boy, 'He doesn't deserve you!'.
Thousands of fans who were clued up about the original commenter's intentions went on to 'like' the remark in agreement.
Minutes later, however, Young responded with a saucy statement of her own, alluding to not being particularly picky when it comes to partners.

"I like p***y as well u kno," she jibed back.
Young's NSFW (yet, legendary) response is the first time that the chart-topper has hinted at her sexual preferences within a public realm.
Speaking to Metal Magazine about 'Messy' back in December, she admitted the track was somewhat centred on a former romance, but opted not to reveal the identity or gender of the mystery heartbreaker.

"Messy is an ADHD anthem, it really showcases everything I felt during my last relationship, but also it is deeper than that, as it talks about how I feel about myself in general," she told the publication.
"Being too messy one day and too clean another, struggling to find that balance in myself."
Young also recalled her first experience with love during an interview with GQ - but again, she didn't specify who the romance involved.

"When I was 14, yes 14! I’m 20 now, it was true love, but it’s never as true as how it felt in the moment, I guess," she confessed.
"I believe in young love, for sure, but I believe love does change depending on your life experience.
"The person was great but it just wasn’t right."
