Lily Allen has revealed that her husband controls her mobile phone in a recent interview.

The popstar is married to Stranger Things actor David Harbour and admitted that she has a problem with using her phone too much which required an intervention.

It's not the first time she's opened up about her phone usage, as she's previously spoken about the NSFW reason she wants to be buried with her mobile.

The 39-year-old said ‘the creative side of [her] brain has been ruined by smartphones’.

The mum-of-two added that she only allows certain apps on her device, which stops her from going on social media.

Pinwheel is the smartphone that she and Harbour use, which is a phone for children with built-in parental guidance.

For hers, her husband has set her controls which dictates what apps she can and can’t have, and she does the same for his mobile.

She told the Sunday Times: “My husband is the caregiver on it.

“So, he controls what I’m allowed to have as an app on my phone. I’m the controller of his as well.”

Their phone is specifically designed for his between 8-18 and offers a selection of 1,000 apps but it prohibits online browsing and social media use.

It also needs to be linked to a parent’s account which then gives them full control over its app installation.

Allen said that for her, she only uses Spotify and Uber on her phone which helps her to ditch the itch to scroll.

She said: “Because they’re made for kids, he’s [listed as] my parent and I’m his parent. ‘What’s your child’s name? David, aged 50.’”

Ultimately, she wanted to limit her option on her device after calling smartphones ‘evil.’

She said: “I don’t know anyone who could possibly say that the quality of their life is improved by the presence of a smartphone.

"I think it’s destroyed us as a species. It’s horrendous that they’re designed to be so addictive. Some of us have more addictive personalities than others. It’s evil.

“I don’t think, as human beings, that you’re meant to share ideas and for them to be set in stone.

“We are meant to evolve as people. How are you meant to do that if you’re always held to account by things that you’ve said in the past?

"I said that 20 years ago when I was a completely different person, hadn’t been married, didn’t have children. Of course, I had a different outlook on life. Don’t hold me to that.”

The couple live together in the US along with Allen’s two children from a previous marriage, Ethel and Marnie.

She married to Sam Cooper in 2011, but announced that a ‘friendly divorce’ had been finalised between the two in and 2018, and that they would share custody of their children.
