In October 2016, Kim Kardashian was bound, gagged and robbed of $10 million worth of jewellery at gunpoint, whilst staying at a Paris apartment.
Weeks earlier, the reality star's then-husband Kanye West issued her with a warning which somewhat preceded the heart-stopping events - something she now says potentially saved her life.
That fateful day, five men dressed as members of the French police force barged into her place of international residence, after threatening the concierge. With a gun to her head, Kim was forced to hand over one of the two engagement rings that her rapper beau had proposed with.
Her hands and legs were bound with cable ties, and duct tape was used to cover her eyes and mouth.
The Kardashians star begged for her life, reminding the robbers that she is a mother of four young children.

After loosening the tape on her mouth, Kim was able to scream for help, prompting the gang of thugs to flea the scene.
Only on a handful of occasions has the SKIMS boss since looked back on the horror she was subjected in Paris - including in an interview with television presenter David Letterman in 2021 - but she has once again addressed it on the latest episode of her family's hit Disney+ series.
Speaking on the 13 March instalment of the show, Kim recalled a warning Kanye - whom she divorced in 2022 after seven years together - gave her just weeks ahead of the robbery.
According to the 44-year-old, her musician hubby previously urged her never to wear both of her engagement rings at the same time.

"My first one that I got engaged to Kanye [with] was a cushion cut," Kim explained on the show.
"And that was the only piece of jewellery I owned that I didn’t take to Paris."
Kanye, 47 - who has since remarried Australian model Bianca Censori - first proposed to Kim in 2013 with a 15-carat ring.

Some time later, the 'Stronger' hit-maker also gifted his bride an upgraded 20-carat ring.
In an Instagram video shared in 2016 - just months prior to the robbery - Kim flaunted both diamond-cut gems together during an outing to Madison Square Garden. She'd shared several videos and snaps of the rings on social media at the time.
"Kanye saw it and he goes, 'Don’t you ever wear both of your rings at the same time. Are you looking to get robbed?'" she recalled this week.
Ahead of travelling to Paris in October, Kim 'left' her 'original ring that' she 'got proposed to' with in America.

Speaking on the show, she described this particular jewel as 'the most important'.
It was her second ring - worth an alleged $4 million - that the robbery stole during the heist.
Kim also revealed on the latest episode of The Kardashians that she plans to gift her original engagement ring to her 11-year-old daughter, North, when she gets older.

"She was with me when I got engaged and she held it after," the TV star explained.
"And I took a photo and she was just, like, a few months old."
