Kate Hudson's brother Oliver confessed to cheating on his wife just before they got married, and when asked if he regrets it he said: "I guess not."

Son of Goldie Hawn, Oliver Hudson, has opened up about cheating on his wife Erinn Bartlett before their 2006 wedding during a Mexican beach ceremony.

Oliver, 49, is an actor known for his role in The Cleaning Lady, co-hosts a podcast with his sister Kate - and they are very candid about their lives.

The podcast Sibling Revelry, is exactly where Oliver confessed that he ‘never got caught’ cheating, but ended up spilling all to wife Erinn, before they said 'I do' as he ‘couldn’t live’ with the guilt.

Speaking to podcast guest Robyn Lively, Oliver said: “When I got engaged, something happened psychologically, and I spiralled, and I was unfaithful, and I was cheating, and I was crazy.”

“I told her everything because I couldn't live with myself and get married and be married and have children with this sort of weight."

"I was taking Silkwood showers, you know?" he said, a slang term used for long, very hot showers to decontaminate and hide odours.

He continued: "I was crying and going 'Oh my God, who am I?' But then going off and having a drink or whatever.”

Oliver then spoke about his mother Goldie and how instrumental her support was.

He said: “My mother played a big part in it as well. Where it's about looking at the entirety and the totality of the relationship, not just the action.

“Even though it might seem extreme, let's dig in a little bit into why and looking at the whole person rather than this one affliction.

"Because I’m a good man, there’s no doubt. I’m not malicious and all that."

He then added: "I was going through whatever I was going through, and we were able to sort therapy and do all of it and get through it.”

Then the most shocking moment of the podcast happened.

Oliver admitted he doesn’t regret cheating on his wife, who he now shares three children with: Wilder Brooks, 18, Bodhi Hawn, 15, and Rio Laura, 12.

He divulged: “Honestly, if that didn't happen, I don't know what kind of a person I would be. So, do I regret it? I mean no, I guess not.

"I regret causing pain. I don't want to cause anyone any pain.

“Regret is an interesting word. I'm not sure I have many regrets because if I didn't, it was a choice that I made, whether it was a positive one or a negative one.

"I've made some horrible, horrible choices in my life just generally. You would think I regret doing that, but I don't know who I would be if I didn't make that choice."

Not sure that explanation would be good enough for us, but we wish the couple - who have been married for 19 years now - all the best.
