Justin Bieber has sent his fans into a spin online after changing his name on Instagram, and people think there is a deeper meaning.
The Canadian ‘Baby’ singer has been in the forefront of his fans minds for a few months now, after a series of posts left people confused and worried.
Bieber recently released brutal private text messages between himself and what appears to be a former friend, which kickstarted a little bit of backlash for the 31-year-old singer.

When it comes to his recent social media presence, it has been met with some push back from those in the comments who are wondering if the singer is well.
The screenshotted phone messages showed him cutting off an old pal, as well as a selfie photo dump captioned with a middle finger emoji, on Instagram.
After people questioned his wellbeing, he then released a post about his mental health - namely, his 'anger issues' on Instagram Stories.

On his Instagram story, he called people out for telling him to heal, ending his paragraph with ‘weirdo’.
Anyway, people have been paying close attention to his posts as it shows him, his wife Hailey, and their son Jack amid abstract shots of his home, his face, and sometimes birds.
This led to people suddenly realising that the singer had privately changed his username from Justin Bieber to ‘lilbieber’.
Now, the art of popping a ‘lil’ in front of your name is something that people tend to do if they’re working in a different genre of music.

Namely, rap.
There’s Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, Lil' Kim, Lil Durk, Lil Jon, Lil Nas X, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, and so many others.
So now fans are speculating that Bieber has been working on something brand new in the studio, specifically a rap album.
Being no stranger to rappers considering he’s worked with Niki Minaj, Big Sean, Ludacris, and Chance the Rapper, it’s not so far fetched to believe that he’s stepping away from his pop music to something with grit.

Online, his fans have been coming up with theories about his name change, and everyone is in agreement that whether it’s rap or not, new music is going to drop.
One person said: “Bro about to make a wave.”
Someone else wrote: “Rap album boutta be a classic.”

Another said: “he gon be a rapper or what.”
There has been evidence that Bieber has been working on music at least after he took to Instagram a few weeks ago to share a clip of himself and a friend seemingly freestyling over a beat.
In the clip, he could be heard rapping: "I fly high like a high guy / I fly high like a magpie / I go high like I'm that guy."
While it was only a few seconds long, it racked up more than 800k likes and nearly 20k comments from many fans within the space of a couple of days.
So, maybe we’re all to expect a drop soon?
