Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner once got matching tattoos and it's now pretty awkward

Getting matching tattoos with your other half is a decision that shouldn't be taken lightly.

And no one is more aware of that than former power couple Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, who called off their marriage last year, each still bearing a piece of artwork dedicated to the other.

The duo blindsided fans last year by announcing their shock split in 2023, just four years after tying the knot.

Breaking the gut-punching news at the time, the now-exes - who share two daughters - released a joint statement on social media.

"After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage," they penned.

"There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."

It then took almost a year later for Game Of Thrones favourite Turner, 28, to address the shock split in public.

In a bombshell interview with Harper's Bazaar this week, the mother-of-two discussed her long-awaited return to the UK, claiming she felt as though her 'life was on pause' while living in the States with her ex.

And elsewhere in the conversation, she opened up about how motherhood has changed her life - despite recently having to acclimatise herself to co-parenting with her ex.

What she failed to divulge while spilling the tea, however, was whether or not she still has the matching tattoo she once got with 35-year-old American singer Jonas, or if she had the artwork removed.

The former couple showed off their matching body art back in 2018 - two years after they first began dating and a year after they announced their engagement.

The exes were inked up by celebrity tattoo artist Mr K at the time, seemingly inspired by a legendary Disney quote.

On Jonas' wrist was written, 'To Infinity,' while Turner's wrist bore, 'And Beyond' - completing the iconic line given by Buzz Lightyear in the much-loved kids' franchise, Toy Story.

Despite discussing some aspects of the fallout from her split, Turner admitted she's unable to share specific divorce details.

"I’m going through a legal process right now where I can’t really say much," she told the publication.

"But it was incredibly sad. We had a beautiful relationship, and it was hard."
