Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen have separated after 18 years of marriage and have issued fans with an update after the shock split.
A representative for the celebrity couple confirmed to PEOPLE Magazine on Thursday (14 May) that the US actor, 48, and the Angel star, 46, have separated, though they remain on ‘great terms’.
The spokesperson added that the pair are focusing on coparenting their two sons, Lazlo, eight, and Sid, 12.
While a source close to them also told the publication that Biggs and Mollen ‘are doing great’ and spent the American Pie actor’s 48th birthday together as a family on Tuesday (12 May).

The source said, "They are very much connected. I have no doubt that they will remain on excellent terms."
The former couple met while auditioning for the movie My Best Friend's Girl in 2007 and were engaged by January 2008, before they tied the knot and eloped in a private ceremony in Napa that April, with 40 guests in attendance.

But it turns out, she was actually not too convinced of him being her co-star in the rom-com.
Mollen said during a 2023 appearance on Live! With Kelly and Mark: “Jason Biggs? That guy from American Pie? I wasn’t gonna root for him. He was more famous than me. So why would I want him to get any more success in life? I had to think of myself!”
However, as per E! News, when she watched his audition tape, she couldn’t deny that he was both ‘funny’ and ‘talented,’ encouraging her to sign on to the film with him.
They went on to welcome their children in 2014 and 2017 and one year later, Biggs joked to PEOPLE that as soon as he gets a ‘third, my girl, then I'm going to retire’.
Biggs is best known for being the lead of American Pie, Jim Levenstein, in the four comedy movies, which were released between 1999 and 2012.
While Mollen has starred in movies and TV shows like Crazy, Stupid Love, Girls, Angel, and Chicago Fire.

Just over a year ago, the duo celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary with a joint social media post showcasing some of their silly moments.
Mollen captioned the post: "17 years of this. Happy Anniversary @biggsjason.”
Biggs, who has been sober since 2017, has also credited his wife with being a big part of his journey after a battle with drugs and alcohol.
“When Jenny got pregnant, that was sort of a wake-up call for me," he previously said on The View.
The actor explained, “They say you got to get sober for yourself. I agree and disagree. I believe that when you first get sober, whatever the reason is, it doesn’t matter. Whether it’s for someone else, your family - ‘Jenny was pregnant, I got to get sober’ - whatever it is."
"I think, in order to stay sober, you have to do it for yourself," he continued. "So that’s what got me in. What keeps me there is I need to do it for myself. Advice is, ask for help."
