The celebrity tea just got piping hot.

Hilary Duff's husband, Matthew Koma, has publicly weighed in on Ashley Tisdale's viral 'toxic mom group' essay, which internet detectives think was aimed at the Lizzie McGuire star.

The High School Musical actress, 40, penned an essay in The Cut on New Year's Day, where she talked about 'breaking up with' a group of 'toxic moms' who she says excluded her and made her feel like she was 'in high school'.

She recalled how she was 'craving connection' with other moms after the birth of her first daughter, Jupiter Iris French, in March 2021.

Tisdale explained how a friend of hers brought a group of mothers together, and after playdates and a group chat being set up, the actress believed she'd 'found her village'.

However, she talked about how things took a turn and claimed the group began leaving her out, writing: "I remember being left out of a couple of group hangs, and I knew about them because Instagram made sure it fed me every single photo and Instagram Story."

Tisdale wrote: "And yet, I could sense a growing distance between me and the other members of the group, who seemed to not even care that I wasn’t around much. When everyone else attended a birthday dinner together, I was met with excuses as to why I hadn’t been invited."

Fans were quick to speculate on who the essay was about, piecing together that it could be referencing a celebrity mom group Tisdale was publicly part of, which reportedly included Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore.

However, her representative told TMZ that this was not the case and clarified that Tisdale was not referring to Moore, Duff, or anyone from that gang, despite also reportedly unfollowing the two on Instagram.

The rep said that 'there’s zero truth to what online "detectives" think they’ve cracked' and the essay is actually about a 'completely different group of friends', adding that Tisdale's 'beautiful, meaningful' essay was supposed to focus on exclusion in friendship groups, which is a 'real issue' in 'mom circles'.

But as we say, things have got even more confusing now that Duff's husband Matthew Koma has taken what seems to be a very public swipe at Tisdale.

Taking to his Instagram Story earlier today (7 January), he poked fun at her essay by recreating her image on The Cut article, replicating her exact pose by putting his hand on his face.

On the front of the mock magazine, he wrote: "A Mom Group Tell All Through A Father's Eyes."

He then added: "When You're The Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Their Focus To Their Actual Toddlers." Speechless!

He joked in the caption: "Read my new interview with @TheCut."

Of course, he didn't name Tisdale, but it's pretty easy to work out what he's talking about.

Reacting to the public swipe, one Twitter user penned: "When the husband is the one starting the drama, you know it’s real."

While a second agreed: "clapback sounds a little too specific to be random."

The claws are well and truly out...

Tyla has contacted reps for Tisdale and Duff for comment.
