Halle Bailey has released another statement suggesting that she 'overreacted' after her son was featured on a livestream without her knowledge.

The Little Mermaid star shares her son, Halo, with her ex-boyfriend, DDG - real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.

The former couple welcomed their little boy in December 2023, with Bailey writing on Instagram that he was the 'the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me'.

On 6 November, DDG appeared on YouTuber Kai Cenat's Twitch livestream alongside Halo, leading to the singer hitting out at her ex on social media, saying she was 'extremely upset' that 'millions of people' had seen their baby without her consent.

In her post, she wrote: "Hi everyone. Just so you know I am out of town and I don't approve of my baby being on a stream tonight.

"I wasn't told or notified and I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people.

"I am his mother and protector and saddened that I wasn't notified especially when I am out of town."

In another reply - which has since been deleted - she opened up about experiencing 'severe postpartum', writing: "As a woman experiencing severe postpartum, there are boundaries that I wish to be respected. No one knows what someone is going through until they snap."

Now, the star has issued a follow-up statement.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Bailey revealed that she 'maybe' shouldn't have taken the conflict online, saying: "Yesterday maybe I did overreact and shouldn’t have brought it here.

"I know that Halo is always safe with his dad. I just don’t like finding out with the rest of the world what my baby is doing."

She also thanked Kai for his 'gifts' to her son.

Her initial post received a mixture of comments from online viewers.

One person called her concerns 'totally understandable', adding: "Boundaries are important, especially during such a sensitive time. Hope they can work things out."

Meanwhile, others suggested that private family matters like this should be best kept 'offline'.

"Why bring problems on to social media? Call him instead. Simple." someone else said.

Halle previously opened up about keeping her pregnancy under wraps for a long time, stating that it came from a 'place of protection' for her child.

As per Billboard, she said: "There was no way in hell I was going to share the biggest joy of my world with anyone. Halo was my gift. He is the greatest blessing, and I had no obligation to expose him, me, or my family to that.

“With the state of the world and the place it is in with men trying to force their will on our bodies, no one on social media, and for d–n sure, no one on the planet was going to tell me what to do with my body or what to share with the world."
