Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s ex-husband Ryan Anderson speaks out for first time since split

Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s ex-husband Ryan Anderson speaks out for first time since split

Gypsy tied the knot with Ryan in 2022 while she was serving time in prison following the murder of her mother

It came as a huge shock to many when Gypsy Rose Blanchard announced her split from husband Ryan Anderson, and now he’s having his say.

Gypsy tied the knot with Ryan in 2022 while she was serving a sentence of ten years in prison after pleading to the second-degree murder of her mother, Clauddine ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard in 2015.

The brutal stabbing that killed Dee Dee was committed by Gypsy's then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn, and encouraged by Gypsy after she learned her mother had been abusive towards her for years.

Dee Dee made Gypsy believe she was suffering from a series of debilitating health conditions in a shocking case of Munchausen by Proxy.

The 32-year-old was released after seven years behind bars in December last year.

Gypsy was the first to confirm her split with Ryan via her now private Facebook account, writing: “Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a separation, and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou.

“I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now, I need time to let myself find who I am.”

37-year-old Ryan has now responded, taking to social media platform TikTok to shed some more light.

“Hey everybody, I just wanna say thank y’all for the support and the nice messages,” he begins

Ryan then continues: “I'm at a friend's watching WrestleMania right now, it's great. I'm enjoying it. I've been a wrestling nerd for a long time.

"I’m just living my life guys. Y’all will see what really happened on Lifetime, we were filming a lot.

"So stay tuned for that. If you support me, follow me, I will post more stuff eventually. God bless."

A forthcoming reality series, Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up starring Gypsy and Ryan had been previously been announced, and is slated to premiere on Lifetime in June 2024.

Gypsy has only been out of prison for three months, and the announcement of the split follows a series of interviews from the couple to the press.

This includes a televised interview with ABCNews in January. At the time, Gypsy said: “We’ve talked about starting a family, we just don’t know when at this point.

“I had to kiss a couple frogs to get to this one.”

As if the separation didn’t provide enough shock, Gypsy has since been pictured with her ex-fiance Ken Urker and the two have shown off their matching tattoos.

Gypsy and Ryan were engaged in 2018 after he got in touch by sending her letters, but split while she was still serving time.

Following the paparazzi shots of the two, Ryan told the Daily Mail he was ‘blindsided’ by the entire thing. He said: “It just came out of the blue.

“I haven’t spoken to her. I just don't know what's going on. I'm at a loss. I'm really not doing well at all.”
