Elon Musk said he plans to file for full custody of the one-year-old son he shares with Ashley St Clair, after she voiced her support of the transgender community.
St Clair, a published author and right-wing influencer, welcomed her baby boy, Romulus, in September 2024, but did not disclose the identity of the child's father until several months later.
After alleging her son belongs to Musk, the tech boss insisted he 'didn't know' if this was true, but was 'not against finding out', claiming he'd already paid the child's mother $2.5 million (£1.8 million).
The Wall Street Journal claimed last April that a paternity test had confirmed 27-year-old St Clair's allegations, and proved the 54-year-old was '99.9999 percent' the father.

This week, however, after appearing to publicly confirm the child is his, Musk has demanded to get full custody.

By the Tesla CEO's own admission, the move was made in response to the child's mother, St Clair, going back on her previously conservative values, and publicly expressing support of transgender Americans.
The mother-of-one recently spoke of regretting any transphobic remarks she previously made.

After critics called for her to apologise for comments about Musk's trans daughter Vivian, St Clair claimed on X: "I feel immense guilt for my role, and even more guilt that things I have said in the past may have caused my son’s sister more pain.
"[I don’t really know] how to make amends for many of these things, but I have been trying incredibly hard privately to learn + advocate for those within the trans community that I’ve hurt."
She added: "Even this reply will become right wing hysteria but yeah I am sorry. Let me know how I can help."

Responding to St Clair's apology, Musk also took to X to reveal his plan, writing on Monday (12 January): "I will be filing for full custody today, given her statements implying she might transition a one-year-old boy."
St Clair has never made any comments suggesting that she would transition their son.
Musk also shares a number of other children with three other women, including son Griffin, 21, triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian, all 20, and transgender daughter Vivian, 21, all of whom he shares with ex-wife, author Justine Wilson.
The couple also welcomed a son named Nevada, who sadly died in 2002 at 10 weeks old.

The billionaire also welcomed four children - daughter Arcadia, one, son Seldon Lycurgus, and twins Strider and Azure, four - with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.
