Elon Musk was ‘furious’ when he discovered his father impregnated own stepdaughter

Elon Musk's father was described as 'insane' after forming a relationship his own stepdaughter and having a child with her.

Jana Bezuidenhout was 30 years old when she got pregnant by Eroll Musk, who is now 79 years old.

Eroll married her mother, Heidi, when Jana was just four, and a relative previously noted that Eroll was the 'only father she had ever known'.

Fast forward a few decades, and not only is Eroll a father figure to her, but the father to their son.

In 2017, a year after 'reconnecting', Errol and Jana formed a romantic relationship and welcomed their first child, who was soon followed by their second.

Speaking to The Sunday Times in 2018, Eroll described the arrangement as 'God's plan'.

He said: "One thing led to another — you can call it God’s plan or nature’s plan.

"Jana is a delightful girl and a wonderful mother. She said I had changed her life."

He went on to explain that he and Jana began their relationship while he 'helped her get over a breakup'.

One person who wasn't delighted by the news was Elon, who has reportedly disowned his father since making the revelation.

A relative of the family also spoke to the Daily Mail, and said: "Errol got Jana pregnant. He is the father of her baby boy, but he was a father to her.

"The whole family was outraged when we found out. This is the reason why Elon is so angry with Errol.

"He is the only father she has ever known. And now he is the father of her child as well."

However, Eroll profusely disagrees with the fact that children from his four previous wives are his stepchildren.

Reflecting on breaking the news to family members, he added: "I told my daughter, Ali, about him because I thought she would be supportive and understanding.

"She said I was insane, mentally ill. She told the others and they went berserk."

But according to a biography on Elon written by Walter Isaacson, the Tesla CEO saw signs of their close relationship much earlier on in life.

Isaacson alleged: "Elon was getting concerned that Errol, who was 56, was becoming uncomfortably attentive to one of his stepdaughters, Jana, who was then 15.

"Elon became furious at his father for what he perceived to be inappropriate behaviour and he developed a deep sympathy for Errol's stepchildren."
