Dylan O’Brien’s transgender sibling Julz makes shock claim about him as they slam his ‘previous support’

Julz has taken to social media to share a series of comments regarding their relationship with the Teen Wolf star

Dylan O’Brien’s transgender sibling, Julz, has slammed the actor's 'previous support' as he came out with shocking claims about alleged family drama.

The 33-year-old Teen Wolf actor was recently called out by Julz after he opened up about their relationship last year at the Sundance Film Festival when promoting his queer thriller film, Ponyboi.

In the flick, O’Brien stars as Vinnie, the secret lover and pimp of a young intersex worker who is played by River Gallo.

At the time, O’Brien told Vulture "I have a trans, non-binary sibling and I know people in my personal life as well who are queer. I am so grateful for how much it deepens my experience in this world."

However, after Gay Times shared an Instagram post last Thursday (1 May) with a caption detailing O’Brien’s comments about his alleged close bond with his sibling, 35-year-old Julz took to the comments section to share a very different side to the story.

Julz firstly clarified: "I’m actually trans masc and go by he/they pronouns," after the post said they were trans non-binary.

He added in another comment: "He also hasn’t spoken to me in over a year. He didn’t check in when I had top surgery. He didn’t even wish me a happy bday last week!

"But glad I could deepen his experience in this world and make the world live him that much more," Julz added with a smirking face emoji.

Julz added in a third comment: "Kinda funny that this article didn’t ask me for a single thing about myself? It’s about me and uses my photo. I’m not even tagged."

In August 2022, Julz posted an Instagram tribute to O’Brien for his birthday.

Sharing photos of them together, Julz wrote: "Happy Birthday, Dyl!! Love you so much."

And, two years earlier, Julz called the The Maze Runner actor their 'very first best friend' in another birthday tribute.

In 2019, Julz shared a throwback picture of the siblings and wrote: "I know I’m over a week late on this one, but I was too busy celebrating with you in person to fish out a cutie pic of us.

"HAPPY 28TH BIRTHDAY LIL BRO! I love you literally more than I know how to express."

When reflecting on Ponyboi in an interview with Adobe in January 2024, O'Brien said he was 'extremely uneducated on intersex and the intersex community' heading into the project.

"This was such an enlightening experience for me, and they are someone I hold so dearly now, that I’ll have with me for the rest of my life as a friend," he said of Gallo.

Tyla has reached out to Dylan O’Brien’s representatives for comment.
