David Harbour addresses Lily Allen ‘split’ for first time with blunt two word remark

The Stranger Things star shared a remark about his personal life

David Harbour has finally addressed rumours that he has split from his wife Lily Allen.

The rumoured demise of the four-year marriage came as a huge surprise for fans of the Stranger Things star and the ‘Not Fair’ singer.

Reports of their alleged breakup came to light in February and the pair have remained tight-lipped ever since… until now.

Allen and Harbour were first linked in August 2019 after being spotted out together in London.

They made their relationship public five months later at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards and eventually tied the knot during a secret ceremony in Las Vegas that September.

When asked about the rumoured breakup during a new interview, Harbour said: “Oh boy”.

In the same conversation with British GQ, he later shared: “I'm protective of the people and the reality of my life. There's no use in that form of engaging [with tabloid news] because it's all based on hysterical hyperbole.”

He later shared his thought that speaking further about his personal life would only fuel 'a salacious s**tshow of humiliation'.

As the actor is also preparing to bid farewell to Stranger Things, which is slated to end this year, he shared: “There's a lot of change - a tremendous amount of change.

“And I think in that world, you have two paths. You can deny this change, be afraid of this change, you can kind of be chaotic about it and, like, eat your way through—whatever you need to do. Or you can sit with however uncomfortable, or weird, or new, it makes you feel."

He continued: “For me, always the best thing that I can do is take all of that experience and pour it into work, because my experience, no matter how awful or great, will always be useful to someone else if it's channeled through art. I can always be of use. And so that's what I'm doing.”

Harbour also shared: “It's not that things ending aren't hard, but it's just that I'm choosing to make it a period of growth.

“And I feel like having the opportunity to be busy and work is really good, and also to delve into this deeper spiritual quest, which I've been on since the mystic saints days… I think I'm good. It's less of a kind of triumphant good.”

In recent months, Allen opened up about her mental health challenges during candid conversations on her podcast, Miss Me?
