Actor Chad Lowe speaks out after 13-year-old daughter Fiona dies

Pretty Little Liars actor Chad Lowe has spoken out after the passing of his and his wife producer Kim Painter's 13-year-old daughter, Fiona.

The Lowe family shared a statement following the teen's death to PEOPLE earlier this week on Tuesday (29 September).

It reads: "We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona."

They also remembered Fiona as 'a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance'.

"She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents," the family said, adding. "In fact, she was the light of our lives."

"Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988."

Fiona, who was born in November 2012, was the second of the couple’s three daughters.

They also share 17-year-old Mabel Painter and Nixie Barbara, who is 10.

Celebrating Fiona's 13th birthday last November on Instagram, Lowe, who is the younger brother of The Outsiders star Rob Lowe, wrote: "Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!! Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!"

Back in February of this year, the Life Goes On actor shared a post of his three daughters standing arm in arm as they looked on at what remained of their Los Angeles home after it was destroyed in the devastating Palisades Fire in January.

At the time, he captioned a post: "Almost a month after we evacuated our girls finally got to go back to see what’s left of their home."

Lowe added: "The way they’ve handled this whole devastating experience is nothing short of remarkable. I am in awe of their spirit and resilience. Helping them navigate these tough times is my sole purpose. Being their dad is my life’s greatest joy and privilege."
