Over the weekend, Candace Cameron Bure shared a jaw-droppingly chic swimsuit snap on Instagram.
Hours later, however, the Full House star's picture was nowhere to be found.
Bure, 49, has deleted the photo, leaving fans wondering why she might have shied away from flaunting her impressive physique.
After all, the Los Angeles-born actor has worked hard over the years to build up her body confidence, having made several admissions in the past regarding her struggle with her image.
Speaking on her popular titular podcast back in July, she became somewhat teary whilst telling listeners: "If someone is listening to this, and they’re saying like, 'I know this, like God revealed this to me, and I understand…
"I’ve built the foundation, but I’m still so sad at where my body’s at, or I’m going through menopause and my whole body is changed."
Candace Cameron Bure posed beside the beach in a white swimsuit (Instagram/@candacecbure) Bure added at the time: "So, how do I start to reconcile living in that freedom that I know to be true, but I’m still really unhappy with my body."
Her admission also came 15 years after revealing in her 2010 memoir, Reshaping It All, that she'd previously battled bulimia as a youngster, claiming on her podcast recently she was constantly 'binging and purging'.
Confessing during the episode, she still believes herself to be struggling with an eating disorder 'because the thoughts — whether I’m doing that or not — they never leave me', adding: "So I still need the tools to just say, 'No, Candace, we’re not doing that'."
Sadly, however, the former The View presenter's attempt at body confidence appeared to have been tainted over the weekend.
After being inundated with questions over her missing beachside snap, Bure finally addressed her reasoning, making a heartbreaking admission about the trolling she'd received.
Bure later revealed why she'd deleted the empowering pic (Instagram/@candacecbure) Taking to her Instagram Story the following day (6 September), she wrote: "Yes. I was at the beach. I was in a one piece, not a bikini."
In the caption of a sweet photograph of the star donning a lemon yellow midi-dress, Bure went on to reveal she'd been subjected to mass shaming by online critics.
"I am soaking up the end of summer," she continued. "I was having fun. It wasn’t about my bathing suit or my body.
"But the comments became flooded with people discussing my body."
The TV star previously opened up about her battle with bulimia (Instagram/@candacecbure) The actress sadly concluded her confession with: "It wasn’t worth it. I took it down."
Bure's comments have since fuelled an important discussion amongst fans, many of whom slammed internet users for failing to consider that huge-name stars have feelings too.
"Let's not judge their bodies, unless someone asks for your opinion then keep it to yourself," one begged in the comments of her latest post.
Another added: "How bout we stop commenting on other people's bodies?"
