Calista Flockhart revealed why 22-year age gap with husband Harrison Ford is a ‘non-issue’

Calista Flockhart revealed why 22-year age gap with husband Harrison Ford is a ‘non-issue’

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart have been married for 14 years

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart’s marriage is currently 14 years strong, and according to the Ally McBeal star, their 22 year age gap doesn't affect their relationship in any way.

The Star Wars actor and Flockheart have been together since 2002, before getting married in 2010.

While this is Flockheart's first marriage, it is Ford's third - having previously been married to actor Melissa Mathison and Mary Marquardt, with whom he both has two children with.

Ford is 82, and Flockheart is 59. And when they got married, she was 46, and he was 68.

While there has been some criticism towards age gap relationships and what the 'perfect' age gap between couples would be, the Supergirl star said it has has no impact on their relationship - rather, it's a 'non-issue'.

In 2017, Flockhart told FOX News that she feels like the older one in their relationship.

She said: “Harrison and I laugh a lot, and humour is everything to me. The truth is, I sometimes feel very much older than Harrison.”

She also told Hello! Magazine in 2003: “Sometimes I even say, ‘Wow, I keep forgetting that he’s 22 years older than me.’

“It doesn’t factor into our relationship at all. I like the way he looks first thing in the morning. It’s not handsome, it’s more cute. He looks like a little boy.”

And this year, she also joked to Hello! Magazine that she is unfazed by their age gap because Ford is 'so immature', though she added that they've 'had their ups and downs like everyone else'.

"We've had to work." she said.

This year, the Indiana Jones star gave Flockheart a sweet mention in his speech for his Career Achievement award at the Critic's Choice Award.

He said: "I want to thank my lovely wife, Calista Flockhart, who supports me when I need a lot of support. And I need a lot of support."

And at the Cannes Film Festival last year, Ford paid another tribute to his wife.

He said: "My life has been enabled by my lovely wife, who has supported my passions and my dreams and I'm grateful.

"And you know, I love you too. You've given my life purpose and meaning and I'm grateful for that, so grateful."

The pair also have an adopted son, Liam, together.

Flockhart had adopted him before her relationship with Ford began and the two have raised him together since.

In her 2024 interview with Hello!, the Brothers & Sisters star also opened up about what he is like as a father: "He's such a good father to his kids now. I love his kids, my stepkids."
