Ben Foden's wife Jackie announces she’s pregnant after suffering three miscarriages

Jackie opened up about the tragic miscarriages she's had in the past year while trying for the couple's second child

It's happy news for former rugby star Ben Foden and his wife Jackie, who've announced they're pregnant following three tragic miscarriages.

Jackie, 38 married Ben, also 38, in 2019 after just two weeks of dating, and the couple welcomed their first baby together, a daughter called Farrah, in 2020.

Ben also shares two children, Aoife, 11, and eight-year-old Tadgh, with ex-wife and Saturdays singer Una Healy.

The couple are over the moon about the bundle of joy that's on the way.

Jackie, who is in her second trimester, told OK! Magazine: "We’re so excited about a second baby."

Three-year-old Farrah is also 'very happy' about welcoming a baby brother or sister in the near future.

Businesswoman Jackie also opened up about the three devastating miscarriages she'd suffered in the past year.

"I kept getting excited about the pregnancies, but nothing stuck," she said. "It’s hard not to get your hopes up when you really want another baby."

She continued: "The first pregnancy got to around seven or eight weeks, and the others were much earlier, so that’s why we wanted to wait to make sure everything was okay with this one.

"Plus, with my age, a lot of things can go wrong."

The couple also have a three-year-old daughter called Farrah.

She admitted that this pregnancy hasn't been so easy either.

“The first trimester was hard,” she said. “There was a lot of exhaustion, queasiness and I just didn’t want to eat anything. But we finally feel excited now and could not be happier.”

Jackie revealed the steps she's taking to keep the unborn child safe, including supplements to control her progesterone levels.

She's also having her bloods monitored regularly due to having marginal cord insertion, where the umbilical cord is attached abnormally to the placenta. This can lead to various complications during pregnancy.

Back in the summer of 2019, Jackie and Ben had a whirlwind romance that saw them get married on a yacht just two weeks after they started dating.

The couple's nuptials raised eyebrows with their wedding day falling on the same day his divorce from Una Healy was finalised.

Ben and Una split in 2018 after Una learnt the devastating news that Ben had cheated on a night out with rugby pals back in 2015, just days after she'd given birth to their son.

Last year, Jackie defended her husband, claiming his cheating days are over.

She said, “People perceive Ben as some slimy, habitual cheater and it’s really not who he is. I don’t think Ben could possibly cheat on me.

“Everyone’s like, ‘He cheated on this beautiful, famous pop star — of course he could cheat on you.’ But that’s just not the dynamic we have.”
