Ben Affleck has finally addressed a question that's been following him around for more than a decade, and it concerns one particularly revealing moment in Gone Girl.
The 54-year-old actor starred alongside Rosamund Pike in the 2014 psychological thriller, which featured a brief nude scene that certainly got people talking.
Viewers have spent years speculating about whether Affleck used a prosthetic for the infamous shower sequence, he's now decided to put the rumours to bed once and for all.
Speaking to Variety in a new interview, the Hollywood star was asked directly whether the eyeful that audiences saw on screen was actually real.
Advert
The interviewer admitted they'd lost a bet at the office and needed to settle the debate surrounding the scene and how much of it was real.
Affleck's response was pretty straightforward.

"I wore no prosthesis," he confirmed, "I've only worn one in one film, Hollywoodland. It was a nose."
Well, there you have it.
For those who need a refresher, Gone Girl, directed by David Fincher, follows Nick Dunne (Affleck), whose wife Amy (Pike) mysteriously disappears on their fifth wedding anniversary.
As the investigation unfolds, Nick finds himself under increasing suspicion, with the film delivering several shocking twists along the way.
Towards the end of the movie, Nick is seen getting into the shower with Amy, who has returned home covered in blood.
The sequence features a fleeting glimpse of Affleck completely naked, sparking years of discussion about whether the actor had actually exposed himself on camera.
Interestingly, Affleck has previously joked about the experience, revealing that Fincher had initially reassured him about how much would be visible.
Speaking at the Hollywood Film Awards in 2014, he recalled the director telling him: "If we tilt down, we'll never go far enough to see anything."
Clearly, things didn't quite go according to that plan.
During the same speech, Affleck also poked fun at the rather chilly filming conditions.
"I'd like to thank you for keeping the set cool," he joked, before adding: "If you're gonna have one chance for America to see your junk, you want it to be cold."
The actor had also discussed the nudity during an interview with MTV News around the film's release, explaining that Fincher wanted the characters to be portrayed without any vanity.
He recalled the filmmaker describing Gone Girl as a 'warts and all' movie, meaning the cast couldn't shy away from showing their characters at their most vulnerable.
And it seems Affleck had absolutely no regrets about agreeing to the scene.

In a separate interview with Letterboxd earlier this week, the actor revealed just how much he admired Fincher.
"Working with David was the great privilege of my life," he said.
"He's one of the absolute greatest filmmakers ever to live."
Affleck went on to explain that he had so much faith in the director's vision that he was happy to do pretty much anything asked of him.
"I was willing to do anything for him," he admitted, jokingly adding: "Like be naked."
He also had plenty of praise for his former co-star Pike, although he confessed that her chilling performance as Amy had left a lasting impression.
"I'm still afraid of Rosamund Pike," he told Variety, explaining that she still has a certain intimidating quality whenever they meet.
"It was a great performance. She was great in the movie."
