Warning: This article contains discussion of suicide which some readers may find distressing.

Aubrey Plaza fans claim they've caught a heartbreaking detail in her outfit for her Saturday Night Live appearance following her husband, Jeff Baena's, death.

Baena, who Plaza tied the knot with back in 2021, was pronounced dead last month (3 January) at his Los Angeles home near the Hollywood Hills and Los Feliz areas.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office confirmed that he had taken his own life, with Plaza's reps telling press in an initial statement that his family were 'devastated' and called for privacy during this 'difficult time'.

Plaza later spoke out in a full statement, saying she is appreciative for all of the 'support' she has received.

"This is an unimaginable tragedy," the actor said in a statement issued to the Independent. "We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time."

She's since made her first public appearance since Baena's death at the SNL50: The Anniversary Special event in New York City on Sunday (16 February) where she introduced musical guests Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard.

Plaza wore black trousers and matching black blazer with a tie-dyed tee underneath - something which fans reckon is a subtle tribute to Baena following her comments made during a December 2021 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show.

"Jeff got really into tie-dying during the quarantine, so I decided that Jeff and I were going to wear tie-dye pajamas that he had made for us," she explained when speaking of their wedding.

"I made a love altar in the backyard of all of our love objects. It was very witchcore, but it happened."

Since seeing Plaza's outfit during SNL, fans have rushed to social media to share their reactions with one X user writing: "Jeff's shirt, i'm gonna cry."

"Aubrey wearing a tie dyed shirt... if i wasn't crying already," said a second, while a third commented: "Such a unique way of carrying love I can’t handle this."

A fourth praised: "I give her a lot of props for making a public appearance this soon after."

"I wish her all the best may her circle support her," offered a fifth, while another penned: "I''m never getting over this, Aubrey I love you."

And a final X user echoed: "If this isn't love, idk what is."
