The estranged wife of Ariana Grande's rumoured new boyfriend has slammed the star amid the end of her marriage.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the 'Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored' singer, 30, and her husband of two years, luxury real estate agent, Dalton Gomez, 27, had broken up.
Ariana is currently in the UK to film the movie adaptation of the musical Wicked, in which she plays Glinda the Good Witch. The pair are said to have struggled with making their marriage work as a long-distance relationship.
Fans were left in shock when TMZ reported that Ariana is now dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, who shares a son with his estranged wife.
Both Ariana and Ethan, 31, reportedly separated from their spouses before starting a relationship together.
After days of speculation, Lilly Jay Slater has spoken about her estranged husband’s relationship with the pop superstar.
“[Ariana’s] the story really. Not a girl’s girl,” she told Page Six. “My family is just collateral damage.”
Lilly Jay and Ethan were high school sweethearts and started dating in 2012, before tying the knot in 2018 and welcoming their child last year.
“The story is her and Dalton,” Lilly Jay said of Ariana’s split from her husband.
Tyla has contacted Ariana Grande’s representatives for comment.
Slater filed for divorce in a New York court on Wednesday (26 July). The reason listed for the end of their coupling was not immediately clear.
Ariana Grande has not publicly addressed her rumoured split from Dalton.
In August last year, the 'Thank U, Next' singer was quick to shut down the rumour mill after she filmed a make-up tutorial where she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring.
“I'm just not wearing my wedding ring, it's getting cleaned,” she said. “I'm not getting a divorce before you start, don't.”
In May, Ariana took to Instagram to mark her two year anniversary with a cute snap of the couple alongside the number ‘2’ - the number of years they were married - and 3.5 - the number of years they had been in a relationship.
A source previously told US Weekly that Dalton was the ‘type of guy [Ariana] had been looking for’.
A representative for the couple confirmed the nuptials in 2021, saying: "They got married. It was tiny and intimate — less than 20 people. The room was so happy and full of love. The couple and both families couldn't be happier."
