It's been a while since we've enjoyed a good old makeover show.

Back in the day we'd watch Trinny and Susanna dish out style advice as they'd cinch, swathe and chop participants in need of a style overhaul.

Now, 13 years since the BBC aired their final season of What Not To Wear, the channel has commissioned its first makeover show since, with Rylan Clark-Neal at the helm.

You Are What You Wear is set in a department store of dreams, where - according to the BBC - "every size and shape is catered for".

Each episode follows four 'customers' that need help with a fashion dilemma or want to undergo a complete fashion transformation.

They're invited into a fitting room with a giant mirror, where they're asked to look at their reflection and describe what they see.

In a moment that's sure to require tissues, they talk to the Supermarket Sweep host about their greatest insecurities and how they really feel about themselves.

Waiting in the wings is a crack team of five personal shoppers - Darren Kennedy, Nana Acheampong, Joey Bevan, Kat Farmer and Lucie Clifford - who each have a different style speciality. The stylists will decide amongst themselves who is best fitted to the the needs of the client and be assigned the job.

After undergoing a makeover and getting some much-needed style tips, the participants return to the mirror to see their look with Rylan for the first time.

How GREAT does this sound?

In episode one - which landed on iPlayer on Thursday 11th June - Rylan and the stylists meet Karen, 50, a warehouse stock manager and mum from Hertfordshire who has lost her style confidence since having breast cancer surgery.

They meet Chris, 33, an industrial sales manager from Rugby prone to wearing only black who is need on an outfit for a wedding; and Manny, 29, a 5ft3 champion power lifter from Leeds, who has trouble with buying clothes due to his height.

Finally, they'll meet Rachael, 35, a PE teacher from Oldham with a penchant for athleisure in desperate need of an injection of femininity.

This sounds like the exact kind of comforting viewing we're desperate for RN. Can't. Wait.

You Are What You Wear airs weekly on Thursdays at 8pm on BBC One, with the first episode already on iPlayer.
