This Is Us Fans Heartbroken As Show Is Set To End After Season 6

Tissues at the ready. The critically acclaimed and popular drama series This Is Us is coming to an end with its sixth season.
The show tells the story of the Pearson family and their three children's families in several different time frames. The news was reported by The Hollywood Reporter and it is thought that NBC will confirm the news on Friday.
In May 2019 NBC ordered an unprecedented three additional seasons. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the sixth season would likely be the last. But the news that fans will have to say goodbye to Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz and Justin Hartley's TV family still came as a huge shock.
"I knew this was coming but this hurts," tweeted a fan.
A second Twitter user shared: "I'm sad to see that This Is Us is ending after season 6 but I'm glad they'll be leaving on a high note. What a great show."
"I knew this would come eventually but I'm not ready," wrote somebody else.
As a fourth penned: "the thought of #ThisIsUs ending is making me sad?," and another agreed: "Sad to see #ThisIsUs ending such a good show".
"Kind of surprised they are ending #ThisIsUs after s6. Figured they'd take it to Grey's levels", quipped another Twitter user.
Dan Fogelman's drama has pulled at the heartstrings of millions since the show debuted in in 2016.
Four seasons have aired so far, with the current fifth season set to come to an end on 25th May. Each season has consisted of 18 episodes apart from season five which will have 16. It is thought that the sixth season will also have around 18 episodes.
This Is Us has earned Emmy nominations for best drama series and for its stars Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore and Chrissy Metz.
This Is Us airs on Tuesdays on NBC in the US and new episodes can be streamed in the UK on Amazon Prime Video.
