With excitement building for the festive season already, Netflix have just made everyone's Wednesday with the new that The Princess Switch is getting a sequel.

The Christmas rom-com stars Vanessa Hudgens as Stacy, a 'common' baker from Chicago, and Margaret, the Duchess of Montenaro, who meet in the fictional country of Belgravia.

After the chance meeting, the pair switch places and find themselves falling for the handsome men in each other's lives - one a Prince, the other a successful baker and has an adorable daughter.

Despite lying to the men in their lives at first, they soon get over the deceit in the name of love and live happily ever after... until now.

According to the Netflix 'See What's Next' Twitter account, the sequel, The Princess Switch: Switched Again, sees the pair coming together again while another lookalike 'Fiona' tries to "foil their plans".

The tweet read: "In the sequel, Duchess Margaret unexpectedly inherits the throne & hits a rough patch with Kevin so it's up to Stacy to save the day before a new lookalike-party girl Fiona-foils their plans".

We'll give you an update with more juicy info when we have it...

When you thought Vanessa had enough on her acting plate, it sounds as though she'll be picking up another role for the thrilling second instalment too, as like the last feature, the film star will also be executive producing it.

Although there's no word yet on when the sequel will be released, Vanessa is set to appear in another Netflix Christmas romcom.

The American actress is starring in The Knight Before Christmas as "a kind science teacher who has been disillusioned by love."

Everything is going well until she meets a cursed medieval knight, who she must help get back to his time - as you do.
