Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne have joined forces once again as they star in the official trailer for The Aeronauts.
The duo previously starred as Stephen and Jane Hawking in 2014's The Theory of Everything, which saw Eddie take home the Best Actor Oscar, and are no doubt tipped for more success with their latest cinematic endeavour.
The flick follows pilot Amelia Wren (Jones) and scientist James Glaisher (Redmayne) as they attempt to achieve an impossible feat, flying the highest that humans have ever gone in a hot air balloon.
As expected, the journey to greatness is a harrowing one as the trailer highlights several action sequences of the pair facing adverse conditions, engineering mishaps and total isolation.
The trailer begins with a voice over of Felicity's character Amelia, who says: "I believe there are answers in the sky. Up there is where I have found the greatest happiness."
She is approached by Eddie's character in a ballroom and he tells her he wants to make studies of the air.
"You are the only person who could fly us higher than anyone has ever been, so will you?" he asks her and the rest is history.
Directed by Tom Harper, the film is based on the real story of scientist James Glaisher, who broke the world flight altitude record with Henry Coxwell in 1862. The feat is a world record yet to be beaten.
The film also stars Phoebe Fox, Himesh Patel, Vincent Perez, Anne Reid, Tom Courtenay, Tim McInnerny and Rebecca Front.
The Aeronauts is scheduled to premiere at the Telluride Film Festival today, Friday, 30th August. However, the movie won't be released in theatres until December.
After a brief run in the cinema, the film is scheduled to debut on Amazon Prime on Friday, 20th December.
With a stellar cast and action-packed plot, we have to admit we can't wait to see this.
