Strictly's Nicola Adams has admitted to being "frustrated" at being axed from the show, despite her coronavirus test results coming back negative.

In happier news, the boxing legend confirmed that she and Katya WILL return for one last dance. Thank you, telly gods.

Watch the video here:

It comes a week after Nicola was axed from the show by TV bosses due to her dance partner Katya Jones testing positive for Covid-19.

Chatting with Zoe Ball for BBC2, Nicola said: "It was a little bit frustrating not being able to continue when I'd just got back into the swing of things and I was enjoying the dancing.

"But the rules are in place to keep everyone safe so I'm doing my part."

Zoe then asked Nicola if she and Katya had been keeping in touch.

Nicola replied: "Katya has been an amazing dance partner. I definitely feel like I've made a friend for life.

"It was a bit weird [on Saturday night] not being part of the show, but everyone did a great job."

Changing the subject, Zoe asked: "A little birdie has told me that you will be returning to the Strictly stage, what can you tell us?"

Breaking into a grin, Nicola said: "Well, as my saying goes, I do like doing the most. Me and Katya will be coming back..."

Well, hallelujah!

Signing off, Zoe told the audience: "I'm just pointing out, not to compete, but they are going to come back and dance one more time, which is great news."

The news will be welcomed by fans who were left frustrated by Nicola's departure, given her negative test results.

Strictly just hasn't been the same without the pro boxer. We can't wait to see Nicola and Katya back for what we hope will be an all-bells-and-whistles performance in the final.
