Fans of Netflix's The Umbrella Academy will be thrilled to learn that filming has wrapped on season 2 - meaning a second helping is coming sooner rather than later.

The show's cast and crew took to Instagram to share their delight as they wrapped six months of shooting the hit dramedy in Toronto, Canada.

Reflecting fondly on their shoot, Tom Hopper, who plays Luther Hargreeves (Number One), shared a snap with two members of the production crew on Instagram and wrote: "Our crew on @umbrellaacad are some of the hardest working I've ever come across.

"They work insane hours to help make the show what it is. We are two days away from the end of shooting season 2, and this crew have done us immensely proud.

"We can't thank you enough for the hard work you all put in.

"Round of applause for all the guys like these two, who are the real family of superheroes."

Hopper's co-star David Castañeda, who Diego Hargreeves (Number two), appeared to be deliriously happy with the end of the shoot as he posted a short video of him dancing to Des'ree's You Gotta Be.

Captioning the clip, he said: "This will last 30 seconds...update. Umbrella is wrapped. The crew is amazing and I'm gonna sleep for a full day or so."

Following his castmates' lead, Justin Min, also known as Ben Hargreeves (aka The Horror), also marked the occasion by thanking the cast and crew for their hard work on season 2, before claiming that the next instalment will be "wild".

Posting a selfie on Instagram, he shared: "And just like that, Ben and I are headed home. A huge thank you to our cast and crew, who've become a second family to me the last six months; I'll miss seeing your beautiful faces everyday.

"And Toronto, I fall more in love with you every year - especially when I can run away right before winter gets bad. I can't wait for you guys to see what we've been working on. Season 2 is gonna be wild."

The comic book series based on Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá's comics with the same name, amassed serious amounts of fans when Season 1 landed on Netflix in February.

But what with facing the end of the world and battling with each other's personalities, they struggle to get it together.

The streaming service is yet to announce a release date for Season 2, but what we do know is that it will include 10 new episode - huzzah.

But until we know more, fans will have to patiently wait to find out whether the Hargreeves siblings can avoid the world being obliterated.
