Fans of Top Boy, get excited: Netflix has just released a first look at the new cast.

The gritty crime drama series is being rebooted for the streaming giant after a successful two series on Channel 4 and will return to screens this autumn.

The third series will see Micheal Ward of The A List and Blue Story join the cast as 'Jamie', along with Lisa Dwan (Trust), Jasmine Jobson (Obey) is 'Jaq', Kadeem Ramsay (Sex Education), Saffron Hocking (London Kills), Kola Bokinni (Black Mirror) and Hope Ikpoku.

Artists Simbi Ajikawo 'Little Simz' will be playing Shelley and British rapper David Omoregie 'Dave' also joins the lineup.

According to Netflix, the new series picks up as "Dushane returns from exile to his home in London to reclaim his throne in the highly lucrative drug market.

"He teams up with Sully, his spiritual brother, partner and sometime rival who is also returning to the same streets after his own form of exile - prison - comes to an end.

"Awaiting them both is Jamie, the young, hungry and ruthless gang leader whose ambitions leave no place for Dushane and Sully."

British rapper Dave also joins the lineup.

The first series was broadcast in the UK in 2011 with the second in 2013, and both seasons are now available to watch globally on Netflix.

The first and second series were just four episodes long, but this time the third season will comprise of 10 instalments.

Series one followed the rise of local drug dealers Dushane and Sully, and the harsh world that they were living in, all set in London.

And season two followed the next chapter, seeing the pair turn into rivals in a world of drugs and violence in the British capital.
