This might be the news you never knew you needed until now. A reboot of the 2005 action comedy film Mr. & Mrs. Smith has been announced and it will star Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Donald Glover as the eponymous couple.
The original movie starred Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as two married assassins who are ordered to kill each other. Following their appearance in the film, Angelina and Brad became a real-life couple.
The reboot will be a TV series rather than a film and will air on Amazon Prime Video in 2022.

She added: "Donald and Phoebe are two of the most talented creators and performers in the world.
"It's truly a dream for us, as it will be for our global audience, to have these two forces of nature collaborating as a powerhouse creative team."
Phoebe is known for creating the critically acclaimed BBC Three series Fleabag and for writing and serving as the executive producer for the first series of Killing Eve.

She also contributed to the screenplay of the upcoming James Bond film No Time To Die, which is set to be released later this year.
Donald is known for writing and starring in the TV comedy-drama series Atlanta as well as for performing under his musical stage name Childish Gambino.
This isn't the first attempt at a TV show inspired by Mr. & Mrs Smith. In 2007, a pilot for a spin-off series was made by ABC. Written by Simon Kinberg and directed Doug Liman, the pilot was described as Married... with Children with guns.
The roles of John and Jane were played by Martin Henderson and Jordana Brewster however the pilot was not picked up to series.

A movie sequel with Angelina and Brad was rumoured to be in development in 2010 however both actors were allegedly unsatisfied with the proposed story.
