Bad news fans - Ruth Jones has denied claims that Gavin and Stacey will be returning to our screens - despite the BBC promising new episodes.
The creator of the hit BBC show said there are no plans to start writing new material, as she sat down with Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on today's This Morning.

"There aren't any plans to write anything," said Ruth. "Obviously James is in America and I'm in Wales. The joy of our last special is that if we never go back to Barry, we'll always wonder what happened next.
"I quite like leaving it hanging. I'm sorry I don't have any better news."
It's fair to say fans were absolutely devastated, with many taking to Twitter to voice their upset.
"Ruth Jones.....No No No! We need another episode of #gavinandstacey as soon as possible.....please, please, please!" Said one.

While another added: "Ruth Jones just said there's no plans for new Gavin and Stacey. Really playing with my heart here man."
Just earlier this week, it was reported that Gavin and Stacey would be making a comeback at some point, with BBC's Charlotte Moore saying that although the follow-up won't be this festive season, it is definitely on the cards.

It was the news fans had been waiting for since the short-lived return of Gavin & Stacey last Christmas.
"That wasn't something that was going to happen this year," the BBC's Charlotte Moore said earlier this week, before adding that it would be coming back for future episodes "one day."
Last year's festive special was the most-watched TV of Christmas Day, and it left us on an almighty cliffhanger, with Nessa (played by Ruth Jones) proposing to Smithy (James Corden).
We *need* to know what Smithy said - can we start a petition or something?
