His Dark Materials Fans Missed Fleabag Stars Andrew Scott and Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Reunion

We have been longing for more Fleabag after the series drew to close last year - and now, two of our favourite stars from the bleak comedy have reunited.

'Hot priest' Andrew Scott made his debut on BBC One's His Dark Materialslast night as John Parry, who is set to help Lyra Silvertongue (Dafne Keen) on her mission.

However, it was John's daemon that set tongues wagging in last night's episode, with the physical representation of John's soul an osprey called Sayan Kötör.

Sayan Kötör's voice caused a case of déjà vu for some His Dark Materials fans, who recognised the bird's dulcet tones.

Taking to Twitter, one fan asked: "I know that bird's voice. Whose voice is that?"

Of course, it was none other than multi-award winning writer and actor Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who starred alongside Andrew's Hot Priest in Fleabag.

The pair's sort-of reunion left fans of both shows excited when they finally realised the pairing.

"The fact they've given Andrew Scott's daemon in @darkmaterials Phoebe Waller Bridge's voice is just amazing," wrote one viewer.

"Until I heard her voice, I completely forgot that #PhoebeWallerBridge voiced Andrew Scott's Daemon!" another joked. "I legit squealed then wanted her to look directly at camera and say inappropriate things."

Another said: "Wait, so Phoebe Waller-Bridge voices Andrew Scott's daemon? Fleabag and 'the sexy priest' reunited?" before adding the mindblown emoji.

"Of course, OF COURSE the hot Priest's Daemon has the voice of #Fleabag!" said a fourth viewer.

"When I tell you I SCREAMED hearing Phoebe Waller-Bridge's voice in #HisDarkMaterials!" a fifth chipped in.

Andrew and Phoebe's reunion on His Dark Materials may be the closest we get to another series of Fleabag.

The series ended with the untitled hero of Fleabag walking home from a bus stop after the Hot Priest rejected the idea of a relationship.

And Phoebe has repeatedly shut down any chance of a third season.

"I haven't changed my mind about season three," she said at the Golden Globes earlier this year. "It feels more and more about being the right decision. (These awards shows) are just beautiful goodbyes. But there's been so many goodbyes every time."
