His Dark Materials Season 2 now has some exciting new cast pictures ahead of its drop this month.

The BBC fantasy adaptation, based on Phillip Pullman's famous books, is back for UK viewers on Sunday 15th November, before hitting TV screens in the US just one week later.

And new cast snaps have now been released to whet our appetites, featuring everyone from Fleabag's Andrew Scott as Colonel John Parry to Logan star Dafne Keen as Mrs Coulter's daughter, Lyra.

We're so ready for this.

Based on Pullman's second book, A Subtle Knife, filming was luckily complete before the international coronavirus shutdown occurred in late March, so we don't have to miss out on any drama.

For those who need a season one recap, last series Lyra (Dafne Keen) followed Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) into a new world right at the end, just as a new character Will (Amir Wilson) crossed into another universe.

In Season 2, Lyra and Will venture into a town called Cittagazze, with many of the original season's characters trying desperately to track her down.

Luther's Ruth Wilson will return as the terrifying Mrs Coulter, alongside fellow OGs Lin Manuel-Miranda as aeronaut Lee Scoresby, Ruta Gedmintas as witch queen Serafina Pekkala and Joe Tandberg and Helen McCrory has the voice of armoured bear lorek Byrnison and Lord Asriel's demon Stelmaria.

There will be some new cast members joining the crew, too, including Terence Stamp (Get Smart), Jade Anouka (Turn Up Charlie), Simone Kirby (Peaky Blinders) and Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge as the voice of the daemon belonging to Scott's character, John Parry.

(Phoebe and the hot priest just cannot stay away from each other, can they?!).

Discussing what's to come for Mrs Coulter in the upcoming season as her "fearless and feral" daughter Lyra emerges, Ruth Wilson told the Radio Times: "After season one, we wanted to maintain Mrs C as the antagonist to Lyra's protagonist.

"In the book she kind of disappears, but Philip gave us licence to dig deeper and explore who she really is - who she may have been before, how she became so powerful in a male-dominated world, and what compromises she made.

"Her ambition has been at the expense of her relationship with her child. Coming into contact with her daughter is a huge reckoning."

His Dark Materials season two premieres on BBC One on Sunday 15th November at 9pm.
