'First Dates' Fans Cringe As Man's Card Gets Declined After Bragging About Money

Flower seller Calum said he was looking for love as he spends most of his time chatting up "yummy mummies" but wants a woman to tame his party antics.

Meanwhile, Lucy wanted a "nice guy" after having her heart broken.

Calum talked of his wealth, private education, luxury holidays and his parents' impressive jobs, which meant his dad was able to retire at age 50.

However, karma taught him an important lesson as Calum's card was twice declined as he tried to pay.

He then had to transfer funds onto his card at the table to cover the cost of the dinner with Lucy.

"Oh god how embarrassing. Card declined," one person exclaimed on Twitter, adding laughing emojis to the post.

In another tweet, someone declared: "So posh and rich... His card got declined."

"I'm crying mans card got declined and he said he's gonna transfer funds with his date just sitting there [sic]," shared another First Dates viewer.

A final chimed in: "His card was declined. My toes are curling. He's all fur coat and no knickers."

Lucy seemed to find the whole thing quite funny, as she spent the entire time giggling at Calum as his card's got declined.

But while viewers at home were cringing, it seems like the whole debacle didn't put off Lucy as she agreed to see him for another date at the end of the episode.
