Fans of action movies (and Chris Hemsworth in general) curiously pressed play on Netflix's brand new flick, Extraction, over the weekend - and it has not disappointed.

The movie, directed by Sam Hargrave, is currently on track to become the streamer's most-watched feature feature of all time - so it's no wonder a sequel is being lined up already.

Yes, according to reports, screen writer Joe Russo is on board to write a part two to the Taken-meets-Rambo edge-of-your-seat thriller.

"The deal is closed for me to write Extraction 2, and we are in the formative stages of what the story can be," he told Deadline.

"We're not committing yet to whether that story goes forward, or backward in time. We left a big loose ending that leaves question marks for the audience."

While Hemsworth isn't officially tagged on yet, it is expected he'll be back as the brooding Tyler Rake.

The actor, 36, took to Instagram this week to excitedly reveal the film garnered Netflix's biggest opening day audience to date - so surely he'll be jumping at the chance to come back?! *Prays*.

Extraction follows Tyler Rake (Hemsworth), described by Netflix as a "fearless black market mercenary with nothing left to lose."

With shades of Liam Neeson's Bryan Mills, Tyler's very particular set of skills are solicited to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned crime lord.

"In the murky underworld of weapons dealers and drug traffickers, an already deadly mission approaches the impossible, forever altering the lives of Rake and the boy," says the official summary.

We don't know about you but any chance of more Hemsworth on our screens is enough to get REALLY excited about.

Extraction is available to watch on Netflix now.
