Emily in Paris has proved a hit since it landed on the Netflix at the start of the month.

Viewers have been enamoured with the incredible fashion, stunning Parisian travel porn, hunky French love interests and, of course, the bubbly and ambitious heroine at the heart of the show - Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins.

Emily's age is never revealed in the series, but now Collins has shed some light on the question - and it's left a lot of people baffled.

Lily Collins says her character Emily Cooper is 22 (

During an interview with British Vogue, Collins guessed: "I don't believe we've ever given her a specific 'number' for her age, but I believe that she's pretty fresh out of college. Maybe this is her first year after graduation. I want to say she's like, 22-ish.

She went on: "She's had enough experience at her company in Chicago to have earned the respect of her boss.

"She's a smart cookie and really innovative - and this is not her first rodeo doing what she does. She's gone to school for this, and she's completed internships." Mind blown.

While Netflix keep Emily's age vague, calling her "20-something", we were convinced Emily would be in her mid to late-20s considering her career success - and we aren't the only ones.

Collins' revelation set Twitter ablaze with people questioning the realisticness of her prediction.

"French cliches aside the greatest sin of Emily in Paris is pretending a 22-year-old can just post whatever *~content~* she wants on a global brand's account without going though 67 layers of approval first lmaoooo," wrote one person.

Others cleverly calculated that Emily would *have* to be older on the fact she has a masters degree in communications and marketing.

"A brief aside here, but if Emily of Emily in Paris is really 22 as the show claims, then somewhere along the line she skipped two years in school to get that masters degree in social media strategy," one said.

Another agreed: "Um ⁦@lilycollins, I'm not sure how to tell you this but a 22 year old with a master's degree AND relevant work experience is either a genius who graduated college at 18 or is lying about her age..."

Sorry Lily, we're not too sure the numbers add up, but good guess!
