With only seven weeks to go until Christmas 2020, retailers are pulling out all the stops to make their festive adverts all the more special after a particularly difficult year.
And Disney looks set to take the prize for the most tear-jerking commercial, with their advert telling the touching tale of a grandmother, her granddaughter and a well-loved Mickey Mouse plushie.
Starting in 1940, the story begins with a young Lola receiving a beloved Mickey Mouse by her father.

Fast-forwarding to 2005, the Mickey Mouse teddy comes to symbolise Lola's childhood and a present day connection to her granddaughter, who sit together and make special Christmas decorations for December 25th.
But the Christmas magic starts to tarnish as Lola's granddaughter gets older and less interested in old traditions, and natural wear and tear of the Mickey toy sees Mickey's ear ripped off - leaving Lola heartbroken.
After seeing how sad her grandmother is, Lola's granddaughter then goes above and beyond to make her grandmother's Christmas more special than ever, making a number of special star-shaped lights that takes Lola straight back to her childhood.

And the most moving moment comes when Lola opens her present to see her granddaughter has fixed her old toy, sewing the ear back on.
The advert ends with the pair sharing the hug, and Disney wishing you a merry Christmas "from our family to yours."
The story is soundtracked by the hugely emotive UK artist and Ivor Novello Rising Star nominee Griff, aged just 19. The singer performs Love Is A Compass', written by songwriting/production team, PARKWILD.

"I was excited to get involved in Disney's Christmas campaign, in support of Make-A-Wish," Griff said. "The lyrics of the track and the storytelling in the advert are powerful, and important. The theme of family and loved ones are so front of mind for many of us - especially this Christmas."
The charity track will also be available for sale and download from 9 November. For every download before 31 December 2020, 100% of the proceeds from the retail price will be donated to Make-A-Wish
And the vintage Mickey Mouse plushy is available to buy from The Disney Store and ShopDisney.co.uk, benefiting Make-A-Wish organisations.
Tasia Filippatos, SVP Disney EMEA said: "Christmas is a time for giving and giving back, and we're delighted to debut this festive ad campaign supporting our long-term charity partner Make-A-Wish.
