True crime fans, listen up - Dirty John drops on 5Star this week.

The hit crime drama, first released on Netflix, is coming to our screens on 13th April, so grab your popcorn now!

Adapted from the true crime podcast of the same name, Dirty John stars Connie Britton as wealthy divorcee Debra and Eric Bana as the titular character.

When Debra finds love online with charming John, all is not as it seems.

Despite plenty of warnings from her friends and family, John wins Debra over and they get married.

Dirty John follows the story of Debra who falls in love with conman John (

The synopsis reads: "For John, charm truly is effortless, and Debra is entranced.

"She draws the line at his first date advances, however, and a flash of his temper hints at something darker.

"Alongside her adult daughters' concerns, it should be enough to put the relationship on pause. But John knows just how to keep her hooked..."

The eight-part series was first shown on Bravo and streamed on Netflix in 2018, and was originally based on a podcast telling the true story of John's deceit and lies.

As well as the TV series, a documentary delving into John's real life crimes is also available to watch on Netflix.

Dirty John, The Dirty Truth explores John's crimes and features interviews with the other women he attempted to con and his two daughters.

The show stars Connie Britton and Eric Bana (

And, if that's not enough, season two of the hit drama, which tells a whole new story, is also streaming now.

Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story, is based on the real-life case of Betty and Dan Broderick, and stars Amanda Peet and Christian Slater.

When Dan divorces Betty and marries his assistant, taking custody of their five children, Betty's behaviour becomes more volatile and she eventually shoots the married couple in their bed.

Season one, Dirty John: Approachable Dreams drops on Channel 5Star on 13 April.
