Dead To Me season 2 landed on Netflix on 8th May and fans of the series have spent the weekend dutifully binge-watching their favourite tragicomedy.

Going by the response on Twitter, the hype for the second season is real - and fans are living for the chemistry between stars Jen (Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini).

Yep, forget heartthrob James Marsden. The bond between these two co-stars is what's really getting viewers hot under the collar.

We get it. These two are the yin to each other's yang. Free-spirited, no-filter Jen is the perfect counter-balancing point for Judy, who guards herself more closely.

There's also loads of quick-fire (some might say borderline flirtatious) dialogue between the two characters.

Plus, you know, on a superficial level, they just look damn good together.

Season 1 followed the pair as they formed an unlikely yet, somehow, totally authentic connection after they met at a grief counselling session.

At face value, Jen was mourning her husband, who was killed by a hit-and-run driver, while Judy grieved for her fiancé, who died of a heart attack.

But the series upturned all expectations and ended on a massive cliffhanger, showing the duo standing over the body of Judy's ex-fiancé Steve (James Marsden).

Season 2 sees the two women thrown even closer together in a darkly hilarious cover-up.

Hey, it's amazing how tight your bond can be when there's a killing involved, right?

As the pair scramble to avoid the cops and an anonymous individual who is taunting them, and seems to know the truth, they are forced to live in each other's pockets.

Even Jen's sons seem to suspect the duo are dating. "Guess you guys can't stay away from each other, huh?" they comment.

Fans of the show are desperate for a full-blown romance to bloom.

"Loved Dead To Me season 2, but was hoping Judy and Jen would end up together," wrote one love struck viewer.

Another viewer picked out her favourite couple-y photos of Jen and Judy, sharing her fantasy that Jen and Judy "eloped and got married - #CrimeWives'."

"I'm about to binge watch Dead To Me 2, can you believe these two are not dating?" grumbled another, alongside a snap of the two female leads.

While a fourth added: "Season 2 of Dead To Me is outstanding. The chemistry and timing between @1capplegate and @lindacardellini is fantastic."

"Kinda bummed about not being able to date rn..." gushed another Twitter user. "I will be putting all my romantic energy into Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini's relationship in Dead to Me thank you."

Others commented that the twosome had "fantastic chemistry" and were "perfect together".
